Firefighting aircraft were dipping water at Lake Pueblo on Sunday, July 19, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife advised boaters to hug the shorelines and leave the lake’s center open as approaches shift with the wind.
A Lake Pueblo State Park alert told boaters to stay at least a half-mile from the dam and from the area between N1 Cove and Sailboard Beach. It said no closures were in effect when the alert was posted.
The notices do not give an end time for the water-dip operations. Boaters should follow directions from park or water-safety personnel and remain clear of aircraft activity until the operation is over.
