Denver police say 9 victims, 1 dead in East Hampden shooting

In an initial alert, DPD said officers were investigating shortly before 1 a.m. MDT on July 20, 2026. Multiple victims had been taken to a local hospital, and the extent of their injuries was unknown at the time.
In a follow-up update posted about 5:03 a.m. MDT, police said there were nine total victims and one had died. The update did not provide conditions for the other eight victims.
The circumstances and suspect information remained under investigation. DPD's public updates did not identify a suspect, announce an arrest or provide a suspect description.
Investigators asked anyone with information to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers. Police said tipsters can remain anonymous.
