Denver police arrested Aaron Espinoza, 42, on July 20 in connection with a fatal pedestrian crash on East Colfax Avenue. Police said July 21 that a tip to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers led to the arrest and that the vehicle was recovered.
The crash happened July 10 in the 2200 block of East Colfax Avenue. Denver police’s initial account said the pedestrian suffered serious injuries; the department said July 17 that the pedestrian later died.
Police have not publicly identified the pedestrian or described how the collision occurred beyond saying it involved a motorist and a pedestrian. The department’s July 21 update did not include Espinoza’s booking status, charges, a criminal case number or a court date. Those details were not found in the public records reviewed as of July 22, 2026. An arrest is not a finding of guilt.
