Man injured in shooting near Elmwood Lane in Westminster; suspect sought

A 21-year-old man was taken to a hospital after deputies found him with an apparent gunshot wound to the head in the roadway near Elmwood Lane and Westchester Drive in Westminster, the Adams County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies responded about 9:15 p.m. July 20, according to the Sheriff's Office. Fire and emergency medical personnel transported the man to a local hospital. The agency did not identify him or provide an update on his condition.
Deputies learned during the investigation that a dark-colored SUV was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed. No further suspect description was released. Deputies and detectives are investigating and working to identify the suspect or suspects. Anyone with information should call 911 or Adams County non-emergency dispatch at 303-288-1535.
