Adams County sheriff’s K-9 Huck retires after five years
The sheriff’s office says Huck was involved in 252 arrests and helped seize methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine. It has not announced his final service date or a replacement.
Adams County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Huck is retiring after five years with the agency, which said he was involved in 252 arrests and helped seize large quantities of illegal drugs.
The office announced the retirement July 23 and said Huck joined its K-9 Unit in 2021. It credited him with involvement in 252 arrests, including 187 suspects arrested on drug-related charges, and with locating 83 people during patrol deployments. The agency also said he helped remove five kilograms of methamphetamine, 150 grams of fentanyl and 50 grams of cocaine from the community, according to the sheriff’s announcement.
The announcement did not specify Huck’s final service date or identify a replacement K-9 or transition plan. The sheriff’s office invited residents to visit Huck with the Adams County Retired K9 Foundation at the Adams County Fair, but did not provide a date or time for that appearance.
