Passenger dies after Denver crash; driver arrested in vehicular-homicide investigation

A passenger died after a crash Friday in southeast Denver, and police arrested the driver, 32-year-old Andres Martinez, in a vehicular-homicide investigation, the Denver Police Department said.
Denver police initially said at about 8:03 a.m. July 24 that officers were investigating a crash involving a single motorist and serious injuries near East Alameda Avenue and East Fairmount Drive. Police warned of delays in the area.
In a 4:53 p.m. update, Denver police said a passenger had been pronounced dead and Martinez had been arrested. Police have not publicly identified the passenger or described the crash sequence.
