Denver police recovered the vehicle sought in an Aug. 4 serious-injury hit-and-run after receiving a tip through Crime Stoppers Colorado, but investigators have not confirmed or located the driver. The department announced the recovery Aug. 7.
The crash near E. Arizona Avenue and S. Milwaukee Street involved a motorist and a pedestrian. Police had issued a Medina Alert identifying the vehicle as a black 2023 Cadillac Escalade with Colorado temporary license plate 8668753. The alert asked anyone with information to call 911.
Police said one person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, but they have not released the person’s condition. Denver police said the department does not provide victim information.
The vehicle’s recovery does not mean the driver has been identified or arrested. Police have not announced an arrest, charge or warrant and are still working to confirm the driver’s identity and locate the driver.
