A regional funder coalition has advanced a proposal for a workforce training hub involving Community College of Aurora, for up to $1,071,993 over three years. Final board approvals are still pending, according to a report from the Commerce City Urban Renewal Authority’s executive director.

The proposed partnership also includes Commerce City, Adams 14 School District and regional partners. The report says the hub would support workforce readiness, credential pathways and economic mobility, particularly for Derby residents.

Staff planned to work with Education Design Lab to refine the budget, confirm annual milestones and finalize expected outcomes. The report said funding decisions were expected by the end of October.
