Arvada’s Olde Town-focused homelessness response recorded 74 housing outcomes by October, exceeding its goal of 65, the city says. The effort targets people experiencing homelessness who frequent Olde Town; the figure is not a count of everyone experiencing homelessness in Arvada. The city says it reached its goal in September.

The city’s reported categories include subsidized and market-rate housing, rapid rehousing and permanent supportive housing, as well as family reunification, diversion, sober-living facilities and domestic-violence shelter facilities. The city says it follows the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s definition of a permanent-housing exit, but its categories include outcomes beyond moves into permanent housing.

The response combines case management and transitional housing at an extended-stay hotel with outreach and referrals. The city says partners include Mission Arvada, The Family Tree, SafeSide Recovery and the Arvada Police Department’s CORE unit. Mission Arvada describes its role as providing housing navigation and ongoing case management, including help with housing applications, family reunification and lease steps.
