Denver’s Parks, Art and Culture Committee voted 7-0 Nov. 3 to advance a proposed $16.49 million design-services contract for the Boettcher Concert Hall renovation. The committee approved Resolution 26-1621 for filing; the vote does not constitute final approval by the full City Council, the committee minutes record.
The proposed contract with David Owen Tryba Architects would run through Jan. 30, 2030. The more-than-45-year-old hall was last renovated in 1993, and the city’s contract request calls for design work on heating and cooling, fire protection and life-safety systems, data and technology, stage lighting and audiovisual equipment. The scope also includes interior finishes, seating, acoustics, circulation, accessibility and an education component. Roof or façade repairs or replacement could be included as needed.
The request lists the Vibrant Denver GO Bond 2026B as the funding source. It also calls for evaluating a patron pavilion expansion and a west-side addition intended to activate the adjacent sculpture park; neither is a confirmed construction commitment.
The $16.49 million is for design services, not the full renovation. The request does not provide a construction budget or total project cost.
