Denver City Council adopted Resolution 26-1493 on Oct. 26, approving a $40,000 increase to The Salvation Army’s rapid-resolution services contract. The amendment brings the contract to $1,157,803 and extends it through Dec. 31, 2027, the Council’s action record shows. The motion carried 10-1, with Councilmember Lewis opposed and Councilmember Sandoval absent.

The services are for people experiencing housing instability or homelessness across Denver. The city’s contract request describes help preventing housing loss through mediation and problem-solving, finding housing instead of entering shelter, and moving shelter residents into housing as quickly as possible. It identifies the Homelessness Resolution Fund as the funding source.

Before Council adopted the resolution, the Community Planning and Housing Committee approved it by consent on Oct. 13. The Oct. 20 Mayor-Council agenda listed the resolution for consideration.
