Spin scooters now connect more of Denver South corridor

The expanded service links selected communities and business districts across Arapahoe and Douglas counties, with Denver South and local partners covering service costs beyond the $1 unlock fee.

Spin has expanded its scooter service to connect selected parts of Centennial and Greenwood Village with nearby areas of unincorporated Arapahoe and Douglas counties, including the Denver Tech Center, Meridian and Inverness. Riders can travel between service areas that were previously separate, including across jurisdictional boundaries and Interstate 25. Participating communities updated scooter rules and service boundaries to make the connections possible, Arapahoe County says.

Riders locate and rent scooters through the Spin app and pay a $1 unlock fee; Denver South and participating local organizations cover the remaining service charges, the county says. About 60 scooters were added when the expanded corridor opened in early October, CBS Colorado reported.

Denver South manages and helps fund the program, while Spin is the contracted operator. Four metro districts — Meridian, Inverness, Greenwood Consolidated and Goldsmith — are funding partners. At a July Arapahoe County study session, Denver South described its management role and the districts’ participation. County staff said Arapahoe County would coordinate but would not contribute direct funding.
