HCA HealthONE bought the Wilmore Center at 38th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard and is developing plans for an emergency room and medical campus, Wheat Ridge City Manager Patrick Goff told the City Council on Oct. 26 in a meeting recording.
The 5.18-acre property at 7615 W. 38th Ave. includes the former Midas building. ColoradoBiz and REBusinessOnline reported the sale price as $14.5 million.
The proposed health park would include medical office space and emergency services, Connect CRE reported. Goff said city rules require the entire site to be used for medical purposes and require at least five acres for an emergency room. The property is larger than that stated minimum.
Goff said the center’s existing retail businesses would have until about Dec. 28, 2028, to relocate. In 2025, HealthOne asked the city to change its code to allow freestanding emergency departments and a health park at the site, according to a Wheat Ridge study-session record. That record documents the request and a scheduled public hearing but does not establish whether a code change or site-specific approval followed.
