Englewood City Manager Sean Lewis will retire Aug. 31, and the City Council postponed public discussion of how to fill the job until after an executive session at its next meeting, according to the July 6 council meeting.

Council members said they wanted to discuss the transition in closed session first, then return to open meeting with direction on recruitment steps. Staff said options could include hiring an executive search firm, running an in-house human resources search and reviewing the city manager job description.

No interim manager was identified in the meeting record reviewed for this report, and no formal public hiring process had begun as of that meeting.
