Westminster’s Planning Commission voted 7-0 to recommend land-use changes for Northridge at Park Centre Lot 13B-1 that would allow a 122-unit independent senior living project on the southwest corner of West 122nd Avenue and Park Centre Drive.

According to the July 14 commission packet, the recommendation covers a comprehensive-plan amendment and a preliminary development plan amendment changing the 6.84-acre site from Employment-Flex to Suburban Multi-Family.

City hearing materials describe the parcel as vacant. Staff said the project was not expected to create adverse traffic impacts, and no one spoke during public testimony at the June 9 hearing, according to the packet and hearing notice.

Packet materials say commissioners viewed the site as a better fit for senior housing than for employment uses.

The city records reviewed for this story do not show a City Council vote or formal neighborhood opposition. The next step is council review of the commission’s recommendation.
