Denver proposes $1.9 million extension for micro-community meals
The amendment would extend the city’s contract with Work Options for Women through 2027 to provide three daily meals for adults at micro-community sites.
Denver’s Department of Housing Stability is proposing a $1.9 million amendment to its contract with Work Options for Women, extending meal service at Denver micro-community sites through Dec. 31, 2027.
The amendment would increase the contract total from $2,039,585.44 to $3,939,585.44 and add 12 months. The proposal is scheduled for consideration Sept. 29 as Resolution 26-1382 on the Mayor-Council agenda.
The contract calls for three meals a day, seven days a week, including at least one hot meal daily, for adults at multiple micro-community sites. It also covers snacks, sack lunches, medically necessary special diets and coordination with site staff to adjust food quantities as occupancy changes. The department’s resolution request identifies the Homelessness Resolution Fund as the funding source.
