Denver approved a $754,757 contract with David Evans and Associates on Sept. 30 to design safety improvements at 38th Avenue and Monaco Parkway, the city’s action record shows. The contract covers analysis, public outreach and engineering plans, not construction.
The contract request calls for traffic and intersection analysis, surveys, utility engineering, environmental clearances, right-of-way plans, and preliminary and final engineering documents. It sets an end date of July 1, 2028.
Denver is evaluating a roundabout and a traffic signal, weighing safety for all users as well as construction and long-term maintenance costs, the city’s project listing says. The project is in design, which includes designing the recommended option and preparing construction documents.
The project listing forecasts design completion in the first quarter of 2028 and says the project has funding to start construction.
