An Oct. 8 Englewood Public Library update reported repeated restroom flooding in September and automated traffic that disrupted OverDrive and library network access. The incidents affected library areas and security-camera footage as well as digital services, the update says.

The update’s timeline logs restroom flooding or disarray on Sept. 6, 8, 9, 21, 22, 24, 25, 28 and 29. On Sept. 8, water reached the library carpet. On Sept. 24, water fell from the ceiling into library areas, and a surveillance camera fell, disrupting security footage. Staff found wet ceiling tiles the next morning and reported the situation to the assistant facilities manager and risk program manager. The timeline also records a 6 p.m. library closure on Sept. 24.

Separately, the update says bot connection attempts against Marmot domains exceeded 50 million per day. The traffic overwhelmed OverDrive, with bots checking out many titles to scrape content, and caused slowdowns and library network-connectivity issues.
