Denver’s Finance and Business Committee approved a bill Oct. 6 that would authorize property acquisition for the East Colfax Council District 8 Sidewalk Project, the committee’s minutes show.
The filed bill lists 39 parcels, numbered TE-1 through TE-39, along the project segment from Willow Street west to Quebec Street, between North 16th and North 13th avenues. It describes installing sidewalks where they are missing to connect neighborhood destinations and open spaces and provide safe passage, as set out in the bill.
The bill would let the city acquire needed property interests through negotiation or, in specified circumstances, condemnation. Listing a parcel does not mean the city has acquired it or will necessarily acquire an interest in it. Committee approval is not final enactment; the filed copy contains no Council-passage or mayoral-approval entry.
