Littleton City Council is scheduled Nov. 3 to consider a proposed $159 million 2027 budget and property-tax levies projected to bring in about $2.75 million combined.

The proposal includes $65.1 million for the General Fund. A package of changes would add a net $202,707 to that fund, including money for a leadership academy, a Municipal Court service-level assessment and an additional Community Development planner. It would also cut $30,000 from the Open Rewards program for one year and trim the City Council budget, including travel spending. The proposal lists 349 full-time and 44 part-time positions. City staff’s budget materials describe the proposed appropriations and changes.

The city’s proposed 2.0-mill levy is expected to generate $2,555,220 in property-tax revenue for municipal government, the same rate as the prior year, staff says. The Downtown Development Authority’s proposed 3.0-mill levy is estimated to collect about $193,545 in 2027.

The Nov. 3 council agenda schedules first readings of the budget and levy ordinances. Staff materials recommend second readings and public hearings on Nov. 17. Littleton’s stated budget adoption deadline is Dec. 1, and state certification of the budget and mill levy is due Dec. 15.
