The survey would identify available services, when and where people can access them, and rules that may affect access, such as restrictions on bringing dogs.

Englewood council members asked city staff Nov. 2 to survey nonprofit and other providers serving people experiencing homelessness, to clarify what services are available and when and where people can access them.

A council member asked staff to develop a questionnaire for local service providers, saying the information would help the city understand what services are available at different times and what to tell people seeking help. The mayor asked that the survey cover access rules, including whether providers allow people to bring dogs. Council members also discussed a separate request for clarity about providers’ animal policies.

The discussion followed public comment about reports of changes to Bridge House’s Ready to Work program. A Littleton resident described conflicting secondhand accounts about the program’s future at its Englewood location. The mayor said the city was trying to confirm dates and understand what would happen at the site. A joint meeting involving Englewood, Littleton and Sheridan about Bridge House and Tri-Cities was scheduled for Nov. 12.
