The Commerce City Urban Renewal Authority adopted its $2,034,149 budget for 2027 on Nov. 2, keeping the total and named project-area allocations unchanged from the proposal. The authority approved Resolution URA 2026-012 by unanimous voice vote after closing a public hearing, the meeting minutes show.

The budget covers Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2027. Its adopted schedule lists $1,541,828 in administrative costs and a $492,321 transfer for debt service. It provides for $1,934,149 in revenue and $100,000 from fund balance.

The adopted budget assigns $496,906 to Mile High Greyhound Park, $297,400 to Derby and $325,000 to Prairie Gateway, matching the project-area amounts in the proposal presentation. The schedule labels the lines “Project Expense General,” “Outside Services Derby” and “MDA Expense General,” respectively, but does not specify the work or deliverables behind them.

The authority had scheduled a public hearing on the proposal for Oct. 19. Staff recommended continuing it to Nov. 2 for public inspection and comment, then adopting the budget after the hearing closed, according to the Oct. 19 agenda and board communication.
