Littleton proposes wastewater, stormwater rate changes for 2027

The proposal would set a fixed wastewater charge through June, then introduce a usage-based rate starting July 1.

Littleton’s rate-study packet compares average inside-city single-family sewer rates, listing $39.78 for the proposed 2027 flexible rate and $30.05 for the 2026 fixed rate, alongside rates from other utilities.

Littleton is proposing changes to wastewater and stormwater rates for 2027, including a usage-based wastewater rate starting July 1. The city’s proposed fee schedule and rate-study materials give the proposed charges and planned start dates.

Under the proposal, residential wastewater customers would pay $31.55 per bill from Jan. 1 through June 30. Starting July 1, the proposed rate would combine a $21.06 customer charge with $2.93 per 1,000 gallons for treatment and $1.75 per 1,000 gallons for collection. That would total $35.10 at 3,000 gallons or $39.78 at 4,000 gallons. The city says residential usage would be based on average winter water consumption, recalculated annually.

For storm drainage, the proposed rate table lists $16.61 for single-family detached properties in 2027, compared with $10.38 for 2026. The materials describe the existing charge as annual in one place but label the proposed 2027 rate monthly elsewhere, so they do not establish a comparable change in an individual property’s bill.

City Council is scheduled to discuss the 2027 fee schedule at a Nov. 10 study session; the meeting agenda lists a discussion, not an adoption vote. The proposed rates have not been adopted.
