Commerce City council to consider $115,700 in 2026 grants
The proposed budget amendment would fund an open-space management plan, violence-prevention programming and two smaller resident-assistance grants.
Commerce City council is scheduled to consider a proposed $115,700 budget amendment that would add four grants to the city’s 2026 budget, including $60,000 for an open-space management plan and $50,000 for conflict-resolution and violence-prevention programming.
The city council communication lists Ordinance 2788 for first reading Sept. 21, with a second and final reading scheduled for Oct. 19.
The proposed ordinance would recognize $115,700 in grant revenue and appropriate $60,000 to the General Capital Projects Fund and $55,700 to the Grants Fund.
The largest grant, from Adams County Open Space, would support an Open Space Management Plan from July 28, 2026, through July 28, 2028. The grant would require a $60,000 city match from the Capital Projects Fund.
A $50,000 Adams County Collaborative Management Program grant would support conflict-resolution, communication and violence-prevention programming with the Conflict Center and Adams 14 School District from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The communication says the grant would not require a city match.
The remaining proposed awards are $4,200 from Intermountain Health for produce boxes for residents during September and October 2026, and $1,500 from Northeast Transportation Connections for rideshare vouchers and Regional Transportation District bus passes.
