Commerce City Council is scheduled to consider a $319,517.12 increase to Gold Star Concrete’s contract on Nov. 2, the meeting agenda shows. The proposed change order would cover additional concrete work, including accessibility improvements in Core City areas that were not part of the original contract.

City staff recommends approving the change order to reconcile construction quantities and allow final payment. Staff says the added work reflects quantities found necessary during construction, uses existing contract unit prices and is fully budgeted in the 2026 fiscal year, with no additional funds needed. The broader project’s concrete work includes ramps, pavement panels, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, cross-pans and concrete pads, staff’s communication says.

The proposed increase would raise the contract from $3,638,902.77 to $3,958,419.89, the change-request form lists. Staff estimates the overall project will end Dec. 31, 2026.
