Commerce City council to consider study of East 120th path options

The Commerce City Council is scheduled to consider asking city staff to evaluate an interim asphalt path and a permanent concrete sidewalk along the north side of East 120th Avenue between Chambers Road and Laredo Street.
The requested briefing would examine how the corridor could improve pedestrian and bicycle connections for nearby neighborhoods, including Outlook. It would also address preliminary design options, estimated costs, right-of-way needs, drainage and grading, coordination with Adams County, construction conflicts, funding and timing.
The request calls for staff to return with the briefing by the end of the fourth quarter of 2026, according to a Commerce City council communication presented by City Manager’s Office representative Steve Douglas. Councilmember Susan Noble is listed as a co-sponsor.
The communication contains a proposed motion but does not record a council vote or construction approval. Any path or sidewalk would still require a feasibility review, funding and additional approvals.
