Commerce City City Council is scheduled to receive a police crime presentation Sept. 21 that lists 190 aggravated assaults, 30 robberies and no murders in a 2026 year-to-date snapshot.
The police presentation lists 289 violent-crime events in the snapshot. The report covers July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, and includes a separate comparison showing violent crime down 5.6%, aggravated assault down 5.84% and robbery down 16.25% from 2024 to 2025.
The presentation gives category-specific clearance rates. A supplemental data packet separately reports 1,008 cleared incidents and 2,843 not-cleared incidents for the four quarters from the third quarter of 2025 through the second quarter of 2026. It lists a 35.4% clearance rate, but the stated denominator is unclear: the two incident counts total 3,851, while the packet labels 2,843 as “total cases” for the rate calculation. The two sets of clearance figures use different scopes and are not directly comparable.
The department moved from the TriTech system to the Axon Records Management System in March 2026. The presentation notes possible reporting anomalies, and the supplemental packet says some second-quarter data was compiled through manual searches.
The presentation also lists 26 diversions from arrest or summons and 61 diversions to officer-directed medical transport. Those are separate categories, not an established combined total. The City Council agenda describes the presentation as informational rather than a formal council action.
