Denver’s Department of Housing Stability is seeking a $40,000 increase to The Salvation Army’s rapid-resolution contract, bringing the proposed total to $1,157,803 and extending it through Dec. 31, 2027. Resolution 26-1493 is scheduled for Mayor-Council consideration Oct. 20, according to the agenda.

The program serves people experiencing housing instability or homelessness across Denver. The city’s contract request describes services that include preventing housing loss through mediation and problem-solving, helping people find housing instead of entering shelter, and moving shelter residents into housing as quickly as possible. The request identifies the Homelessness Resolution Fund as the funding source.

The Community Planning and Housing Committee approved the resolution by consent Oct. 13. That committee approval is not final City Council adoption.
