Denver’s Department of Public Health & Environment is asking City Council to authorize a five-year, citywide on-call environmental-services agreement with Orion Environmental, LLC, for a proposed total of $7.5 million. The department would order work as needed to supplement its Division of Environmental Quality, according to its Oct. 1 request.
The proposed services include asbestos removal and abatement of regulated building materials, indoor-air-quality work and mold remediation, emergency-response support, and environmental litigation support, including technical analysis.
The $7.5 million is the proposed total amount, not a guarantee that the city will spend the full amount; the work would be ordered as needed. The request seeks council authorization and is not itself approval or an executed contract. The proposed five-year term would begin upon execution.
